Biography
Dr. Bardzell leverages research and practice from a number of fields, including HCI, philosophy, literature and the arts, postmodern critical theory, multimedia design, and learning theory to explore the meaning, value, and aesthetics of emerging phenomena in digital environments, ranging from creative design software to massively multiplayer online games. He is interested not only in cultural and social criticism of new media artifacts, but also in the construction of new theories to explain them.
Driveway Hockey
He is also the commissioner of the Driveway Hockey League, which amounts to a bunch of friends, students, and him playing street hockey with a nerf ball in his driveway. Among his coaching accomplishments was training his lab mix to play hockey with the group.
