teaching
Teaching is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my professional life and a major strand throughout my career. I have been teaching more or less continuously since 1989. I've taught literature and composition, English as a second language, multimedia production, new media philosophy, and HCI. At the School of Informatics, I regularly teach two courses: I310 Multimedia Arts and Technology and I502 Experience Design. In the Fall of 2006, I will also be co-teaching I690 Ph.D. seminar in HCI, with a focus on new media research methods, entitled "Information Culture."

In 2006 I was honored to receive the Indiana University Trustees Teaching Excellence Award.
